Scooter's bad teeth

Scooter is a 17-year-old black Chihuahua who has been by his owner’s side since he was a tiny puppy. They now live together in a local shelter, doing their best to get by.

When Scooter stopped eating and seemed to be in constant pain, his worried owner reached out to us. At the shelter, we discovered the cause — Scooter’s teeth were badly rotten and broken, and he could no longer chew his food without suffering.

We immediately took him to the vet. The only way to relieve his pain was dental surgery, but at 17 years old, anesthesia was a serious risk. With a heavy heart, his owner chose to move forward, wanting Scooter to have comfort rather than continued pain.

Thanks to a skilled veterinarian, the surgery went well. Scooter recovered, can eat soft food comfortably, and his tail wags again. His owner is deeply grateful to see his best friend feel joy and relief.

We are honored to have helped Scooter on his healing journey.

Bug had a sizable mass developing on his tail

Bug is a 4-year-old Pitbull who has been with his dad since he was just a puppy. During our weekly visits to the shelter to check on unhoused people and their pets, we noticed Bug had a large lump on his tail. His dad told us it had been growing for months, and he was worried — but he didn’t have the money to take Bug to a vet.

When we examined the lump, it was hard and noticeably large, so we didn’t hesitate. We took Bug to the veterinarian right away. After a thorough exam, the vet explained that the lump needed to be removed as soon as possible before it grew even bigger and caused more serious problems.

We immediately scheduled surgery for the following week. The procedure went smoothly, the lump was removed, and Bug recovered quickly. His dad was incredibly grateful, and today Bug is a happy, healthy boy once again.

Protective vaccines for pets living on the streets

Core vaccines are vital for every pet. They guard animals against deadly illnesses like rabies, distemper, parvovirus, and feline leukemia. For pets living on the streets, the danger is even greater — they face constant exposure to these diseases, and once infected, the pain and suffering can be overwhelming and often fatal.

Many unhoused pet owners simply don’t have the financial means to seek veterinary care, even though their love for their animals is unwavering. That’s where we come in. Love2Hope is dedicated to ensuring these cherished pets receive the protection they need and deserve.

In September 2025, we hosted our very first free pet vaccination clinic and successfully vaccinated more than 60 pets belonging to unhoused individuals. And our work doesn’t stop there — even after each clinic, we continue taking unhoused pets to the veterinarian every single week. The need is great, and the demand continues to grow.

Your support makes this lifesaving work possible. Together, we can prevent suffering and give every pet — housed or unhoused — the chance to live a healthier, safer, and happier life.

Story of Runt and Tony

Meet Runt, a 6-year-old French bulldog whose early life was filled with hardship. After being rescued a few months ago, everything changed—she found love and safety with her new owner, Tony.

Tony lives in a mini bus, and though it’s not a traditional home, it’s a warm, secure place where Runt can play and rest. She never has to worry about food or comfort again, thanks to Tony’s devotion and the pet supplies we help provide.

Runt is deeply attached to Tony and becomes anxious whenever they’re apart. After being abandoned so many times, she fears losing him—but Tony never leaves her side. He keeps her fed, safe, warm, and happy, despite his modest circumstances.

This is what love looks like: two souls caring for each other, no matter what. Rich or poor doesn’t matter—what matters is that they have each other.

We will continue supporting Tony and Runt with pet food, supplies, and basic necessities.
